ANNA CLARKE
Anna draws much of her inspiration from nature and colour. She works in a range of media from oil, charcoal and acrylics to handmade felt.
Love of the natural world stems from memories of dramatic rugged scenery surrounding her childhood home in Bulgaria.
“The gentle rolling hills of Surrey are such a contrasting landscape, but the light and colours of the changing seasons can be brought to life with textural finishes and bold colours highlighting the beauty of our stunning local countryside”, says Anna.
“I love representing the natural world in an abstract form, capturing its essence whilst leaving something to the viewer’s imagination. My passion for texture means that I don’t aim for a perfect photographic smoothness, but the end result should be an accurate expression of a much-loved subject.”
