AIMEE MCCULLOCH
Having studied illustration, followed by an MA in stained glass, Aimee’s works combine these two elements to create vibrant illustrations in glass.
Playfully engaging with history, architecture and religion, her work attempts to subvert traditional stained glass imagery to create contemporary and unexpected results.
Inspired by the rich colours and layering possibilities of glass each piece is highly patterned and energetic.
Aimee uses traditional stained glass techniques to create each work – cutting the glass by hand, painting and firing the glass in a kiln, leading and soldering the panel, before finishing with putty or cement.
